Like most of the kids these days my almost 7-year-old Dotty, is obsessed with stories about damsels in distress being rescued by courageous men. So on our Delhi to Kanha Road trip we stopped over at Jhansi to give her a first hand account of how courageous and brave Jhansi ki Rani was. Jhansi Fort – A Testament of Courage and Honor stands tall even today depicting the saga of how a true queen can stand and fight for the honor of her Kingdom.

Bara Imambara – Lucknow’s famous Bhool Bhulaiya

Bara Imambara or Asafi Imambara is a large tomb complex in Lucknow. Bara means big and Imambara is a sacred hall for conducting Muslim rituals especially for Shia Muslims around Muharram. It was built in 1784 by Asaf-ud-Daula, the then Nawab of Awadh. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Lucknow. What makes it special is that it is a labyrinth of a thousand connected passages.
